Still wondering if this is the best whale watch kayak experience in Maui for you? These answers should help:
Yes. Our Maui whale watch kayaking tour is designed for beginners and first-time paddlers. We use stable sit-on-top kayaks, keep our pace relaxed, and begin every tour with a detailed safety and paddle technique briefing on the beach. Your guide will be on the water with you at all times, ready to assist and adjust the route for wind and swell conditions.
Safety is our top priority. If conditions are unsafe for kayaking or whale watching (high winds, large surf, lightning, or heavy rain), we may adjust the start time, move to a more protected launch site, or reschedule your tour. If we must cancel and you can’t reschedule, you’ll receive a full refund according to our weather policy.
For standard tours, you can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your tour time for a full refund. Private tours require 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations within the window or no-shows are non-refundable. Weather-related cancellations initiated by us are fully refundable or can be rebooked to a new date, subject to availability.
During peak Maui whale season (December through March), sightings are very common, but wildlife is always unpredictable. We can’t guarantee specific behaviors (like breaching) or a certain distance, but our guides know the local whale hotspots and follow regulations to give you the best possible chance of unforgettable encounters on every whale watch kayaking tour.
Generally, guests should be comfortable in and around the ocean, able to sit upright for several hours, and able to paddle at an easy pace. Typical age minimum is 5 years old when accompanied by an adult in a tandem kayak. If you have specific mobility or medical concerns, please contact us before booking so we can help you determine if the tour is a good fit.
